A plant for processing animal bones into gelatin and fats is set to launch in the Turkistan Region. The total cost of the project is 9 billion tenge, reports infohub.kz.
In the village of Temirlan, Ordabasy district, Turkistan Region, construction of a livestock waste disposal and deep bone processing plant by Huating Biotechnology is nearing completion. The facility will produce fat and gelatin components from bones. Bones will also be ground for use in ceramics and animal feed.
Total investment in the project amounts to 9 billion tenge, with 2.5 billion tenge invested in the first phase. The first phase is scheduled to launch in September. The plant is expected to produce 5,000 tons of fat and gelatin components annually. Once fully operational, it will create 100 new jobs.
Construction and installation work at the plant has been completed, and equipment installation and commissioning are currently underway. In the future, the production is planned to be expanded by utilizing livestock blood to produce additional products, including feed.
The regional governor, Nuralkhan Kusherov, proposed organizing the supply of raw materials to the plant from fattening farms in the region. This would allow more efficient use of raw materials and expand the processing chain.
The project will promote deep processing in the Ordabasy district, establish livestock waste disposal, and create a new production chain.
Earlier it was reported that the investor in the project is the Chinese company Tangshan Huating Ceramics Co. Huating Biotechnology is owned by Chinese citizens Zhao Bokang and Zhao Huedong.
Earlier, representatives of Huating Biotechnology told a Kursiv correspondent that on the international market, horns and hooves can sell for about 400,000 yuan ($60,000) per ton.
