Kazakhstan's Ministry of Health has urged citizens to thoroughly vet foreign medical centers before starting treatment. The ministry outlined key criteria to consider first to avoid risks, reports infohub.kz.
Before contacting any foreign medical center, it is necessary to study all available information about it, check for accreditations, verify the experience of doctors, and review the conditions offered. Specifically, the following criteria are recommended: the clinic holds international accreditation (JCI, ISO, etc.); the qualifications of doctors and experience in performing the required types of treatment; the use of evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic methods; transparency about costs, treatment stages, and possible outcomes; and official confirmation of the medical organization's activities.
"Citizens should be wary of offers that promise guaranteed recovery, suggest unproven treatment methods, or require a decision without a full consultation and analysis of medical documents," the statement said.
The Ministry explained that the list of foreign medical clinics meeting the established quality and safety criteria is used when referring Kazakh citizens for treatment abroad at public expense. The ministry emphasized that the information may be useful for patients who independently choose a medical organization for care abroad.
The list, which includes 75 clinics, is available via the link. It features medical centers in Russia, Belarus, South Korea, UAE, Germany, India, Turkey, Ukraine, Spain, and Serbia.
