Christa Pike, an American woman who survived an attempted execution, has been returned to the same prison where she has served the last thirty years, according to infohub.kz.

As reported by NUR.KZ citing The Guardian, the 50-year-old Pike is again at the Deborah K. Johnson Rehabilitation Center. This was stated in a statement by her lawyers Stephen Ferrell, Luke Inen, Randy Speavy, and Kelly Gleason.

"She is grateful to the emergency responders and medical team for the assistance provided under these extraordinary circumstances. She continues to receive medical care in prison, and we will monitor her recovery," the statement from Pike's defenders said.

Earlier it was reported that Christa Pike had awaited execution for nearly 30 years. She was convicted of the brutal murder of a fellow student in 1995. Pike was set to become the first woman executed in Tennessee since 1819.

In 1995, when she was 18, Pike, along with her boyfriend and another person, killed 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer. Pike was the only participant in the case to receive a death sentence. Later it was reported that the condemned woman survived two lethal injections in the United States.
