The trial over the tragic death of paramedic Uldana Myrzuan, who was hit by a building facade, continues in Astana. Today, her colleague who was with her on that fateful day testified, reports infohub.kz.

Dilnaz Baizakova, who worked that day in a pair with Uldana, said it was her first day back from vacation. "Uldana was assigned as the senior, and I was her assistant. Before that, I worked in a different team. As usual, we came to the shift, checked in, at 8:00 we got the first call, we handled it and returned to the substation for breakfast. Then Uldana said we got an urgent call. The reason: a wall collapsed," she said.

According to the paramedic, they immediately drove to the scene, entered the store where people were already standing. "People were standing outside, they said 'here', there were many people. Further, there was another entrance and a narrow passage. We went in, we see - a woman was sitting in the store, and under the rubble there were two more people - a woman and a man. We immediately started providing assistance," Baizakova said.

She noted that they did not immediately understand what had fallen, but there were bricks around. "We wanted to lift one person and bring them inside. At that moment, something fell on us, I realized it was a brick. I fell, everything was blurry, then I got up, looked at Uldana, and she was lying face down. I lifted her, there was no living spot, blood was gushing from her ears and nose," the girl said, unable to hold back tears.

After a short pause, she continued. Dilnaz said she screamed "Uldana," and the second ambulance team that arrived immediately took Myrzuan away on a stretcher. "I called the senior doctor and said that I was left alone, and there were three injured people, so they would send a team. After Uldana was taken away, the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived. Within 5-10 minutes, other teams arrived, and until that moment I provided first aid to the injured," the paramedic noted.

Answering questions, she explained that she did not see what exactly fell on Uldana, but there were bricks everywhere. Dilnaz herself was diagnosed with a concussion, a closed head injury, and temporary amnesia. She was taken from the scene last.

Recall that earlier in court, the victims testified - Gulnur Kaliyeva, who became disabled after the incident, and her brother, who rushed to help his sister after her call.
