18-year-old Yerkebulan Dossymbet, a conscript serving in military unit No. 6655 in Aktobe, was hospitalized three months after being drafted. According to his relatives, he was systematically beaten by sergeants, reports infohub.kz.

The soldier's mother said that doctors informed the family about his hospitalization three days ago. The parents immediately traveled to Aktobe, covering a 15-hour journey. Their son's condition is serious: he has a catheter, cannot urinate on his own, and his eyes are sunken. Yerkebulan himself said that he was not beaten by all at once, but by three people, and they did it periodically. The sergeants took him to a storage room where there are no cameras and beat him there.

Doctors do not rule out that the bruises could have led to urinary problems. An internal investigation has been launched in the military unit, and a criminal case has been opened under the article "Abuse of Power". Deputy commander of the unit Tolegen Turakbayev said that the military investigation department of the Western Regional Military Investigation Directorate opened a criminal case under Part 1 of Article 451. Also, on September 5, the commander of the regional command "Batys" of the National Guard and a commission arrived in Aktobe to conduct comprehensive measures and an official investigation.

While the material was being prepared, one of the sergeants contacted journalists and sent a video in which, according to him, Dossymbet disobeys an order. To what extent these materials are relevant to the case is for the investigation to determine.
