In July 2026, the cost of construction work in Kazakhstan decreased by 0.5% compared to the previous month, with the decline affecting all regions of the country, according to infohub.kz.
The largest price drop was recorded in the West Kazakhstan Region at 0.6%. In Astana, the index fell by 0.3%, while in Akmola, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar, East Kazakhstan regions and the Ulytau region, it decreased by 0.4%. In other regions, the decline was 0.5%.
The overall index declined due to a 0.5% decrease in construction and installation works, as well as a 0.6% drop in other works and costs. At the same time, machinery and equipment, as well as construction materials purchased by construction organizations, rose by 0.1%.
Some types of building materials saw much faster price increases. Cement rose by 5.3% in a month, lime and gypsum by 8.6%, and ferrous metals by 3.9%. Since the beginning of the year, cement has risen by 15.4%, and compared to July 2025, by 13.4%.
On an annual basis, construction prices increased by 8.7%. The cost of construction and installation works rose by 9%, and other works and costs by 14.9%. Meanwhile, materials purchased by construction companies saw a much smaller increase of 3.3%.
A month earlier, the dynamics were opposite: in June, the overall construction price index rose by 1.2% compared to May, and construction and installation works became 1.3% more expensive. Among materials, the largest increases were seen in petroleum products at 6.4%, gravel, sand, and clay at 3.6%, and concrete products at 3.5%.
