A resident of the Akmola region received a refund for a canceled hotel booking following intervention by the Department of Trade and Consumer Protection for the Akmola region, reports infohub.kz.

According to the department's official website, the resident filed a complaint after the hotel refused to return the money for a canceled reservation. She had booked a room in advance and paid 25,000 tenge for the stay. However, due to personal reasons, the trip did not take place and the booking was canceled. Despite timely contact with the hotel management, the refund was denied.

To protect her rights, the consumer turned to the Department of Trade and Consumer Protection for the Akmola region. Specialists reviewed the case, provided legal assistance, and helped resolve the dispute through pre-trial procedures. As a result, the hotel voluntarily refunded the full booking amount of 25,000 tenge.
