The environmental prosecutor's office of Akmola region, as part of the ecological campaign 'Taza Kazakhstan', has stopped the operation of a large unauthorized landfill and brought over 130 violators to justice, reports infohub.kz.
During inspections, prosecutors found an entrepreneur in the Tselinograd district who, without permits, organized the collection, reception, and storage of solid household waste on a 3-hectare plot. It was on this territory that several major fires occurred in 2026, posing a threat to residents of nearby settlements and damaging the environment.
On July 8, 2026, the district court found the businessman guilty of violating environmental norms. The entrepreneur was fined over 3 million tenge, and his enterprise's activity was suspended for six months.
In parallel, prosecutors recorded numerous instances of unauthorized dumping of construction and household waste. Authorized state bodies were instructed to immediately eliminate spontaneous dumps. Additionally, over the past two days, the supervisory body recorded more than 130 violations of landscaping rules and littering of public places—parks, squares, and coastal zones. All guilty individuals were brought to administrative responsibility.
