In the Zhambyl region, a court has reinstated a female teacher who was dismissed after ten years of service and ordered the school to pay her substantial compensation, reports infohub.kz.

According to the official Telegram channel of the Zhambyl regional courts, the Zhambyl district court considered a civil case brought by the teacher against a school-lyceum. The plaintiff sought reinstatement, back pay for forced absenteeism, and compensation for moral damages.

Court materials show that the woman had been teaching English at the school since 2016, and from January 2025 she additionally served as deputy director for academic affairs. However, in April 2026 she was dismissed from both positions, prompting her to take legal action.

During the proceedings, the court found that the plaintiff had indeed committed violations of labor duties, but they related solely to her role as deputy director. For these, she received a strict reprimand, and later further violations were identified. Nevertheless, the court concluded that her simultaneous dismissal from the position of English teacher was unlawful, as no evidence of improper performance of teaching duties was presented.

Consequently, the court partially annulled the dismissal order and reinstated the plaintiff as a teacher. The school was ordered to pay the teacher 1.2 million tenge in back pay for forced absenteeism, 219,000 tenge in health benefits, 100,000 tenge in moral damages, and 350,000 tenge to cover legal fees and court costs.

Additionally, the court issued a special ruling to the district education department, pointing out violations of legislation committed by the school's administration and responsible staff. The court decision has not yet entered into legal force.
