A civil servant from Taraz has been reinstated on the housing waitlist through a court ruling after being removed due to a change in registration. This was reported by infohub.kz.
The case was heard by the Specialized Interdistrict Administrative Court of Zhambyl Region.
According to case materials, the man had been registered as in need of housing since December 2017. However, in November 2024, the housing commission removed him from the list due to a change in his registration address.
As it turned out in court, the landlord sold the house in Taraz where the man was registered. Therefore, the tenant was forced to register in the Zhualy district. However, he still does not own any housing: he continues to work in civil service and still needs an apartment.
The court concluded that a change in registration does not mean a move to a permanent place of residence and cannot be a reason for removal from the waitlist.
"The decision of the housing commission was declared illegal. The court ordered the housing relations department of the Taraz akimat and Otbasy Bank JSC to reinstate the man on the waitlist with the original registration date of December 2017," the court reported.
The decision has not yet entered into legal force.
