Kazakhstan's Ministry of Energy has commented on the temporary suspension of oil supplies via the Caspian Pipeline Consortium (CPC), reports Infohub.kz.
According to the ministry's press service, loading operations at the CPC marine terminal were temporarily halted to ensure the safety of vessels, crews, and the environment in the Black Sea area. All production and technical facilities of the consortium are in working order, operating normally, and ready to resume transshipment as soon as the situation normalizes.
"Due to restrictions on oil intake into the pipeline system and to prevent overfilling of storage tanks by oil-producing companies, a controlled adjustment of daily production levels was carried out, leading to a temporary reduction in oil output. This measure is technological in nature and aimed at ensuring the stability of production processes," the ministry noted.
The Energy Ministry also said it is in constant contact with CPC management, major shippers, shipowners, and relevant government agencies. "Continuous consultations are currently underway to develop solutions aimed at ensuring safe navigation conditions and the earliest possible resumption of stable exports of Kazakh oil to world markets," the ministry added.
