Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Taalatbek Masadykov announced that exercises to practice protecting facilities from unmanned aerial vehicles will soon be held in Kazakhstan, reports infohub.kz.
In an interview with a publication, Masadykov discussed measures by CSTO member states to counter drone attacks. According to him, the issue of protecting facilities from drones has been included in the program of upcoming autumn exercises, which will first take place in Kazakhstan.
“The issue of protecting facilities from drones has been raised. This year in September, the exercises 'Rubezh-2026' will be held in Kazakhstan, late September to early October, in Russia the exercises 'Vzaimodeystvie-2026', and then in Belarus in October 'Nerushimoye Bratstvo'. At the request of the defense ministries of the member states of our organization, this issue has been included,” he said.
Masadykov emphasized that all countries are trying to adapt to the changing forms of warfare. He believes this is a very correct and one of the most pressing issues of today regarding the military component of the CSTO.
