In Dagestan, a conflict that began at a wedding ended in murder. A 24-year-old man suffered multiple stab wounds and died in the hospital, reports infohub.kz.
The tragedy occurred on the outskirts of the village of Ashaga-Stal-Kazmalyar in the Suleyman-Stal district. According to police, the 24-year-old and a 27-year-old resident of the same village had earlier quarreled at a fellow villager's wedding.
Later, the two men met to resolve the conflict, but their conversation again escalated into an argument, and the 27-year-old suspect stabbed his opponent five times.
The seriously wounded young man was taken to the hospital, but doctors could not save his life. Police detained the suspect. The investigation materials have been handed over to the Investigative Committee for Dagestan.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 1 of Article 105 of the Russian Criminal Code — "Murder." Investigators are now working to determine the exact cause of the conflict and all circumstances of the incident.
After the incident, information spread on social media that the victim was a groom who had gotten married that same day, and the attack occurred on the wedding night. Some posts also suggested that the quarrel may have been over money.
However, official authorities have not confirmed this information. The investigation is ongoing.
