Princess Isabella of Denmark, the 19-year-old eldest daughter of the King and Queen, has begun her military service. She arrived at barracks near the town of Slagelse, where she will serve for 11 months as part of the Guard Hussar Regiment, reports infohub.kz.
This year, she is among 1,600 young men and women who have joined the Danish army.
According to Danish media citing the royal court, Princess Isabella will not receive a salary during her service.
The length of compulsory military service in Denmark has been extended from four to 11 months following the deterioration of the security situation in Europe. Women who have reached the age of 18 are also subject to conscription.
Her older brother, Crown Prince Christian, previously served in Slagelse. After completing his service last summer, he began training as a lieutenant.
