First Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan Daniyar Khairushev has been detained following a tragedy on the Caspian Sea. This is according to data published on the official website of the Ministry of Defense, as reported by infohub.kz.
In particular, a publication dated May 7 of this year notes that First Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces Daniyar Khairushev was awarded the Order of Aibyn, 2nd Class, named after B. Momyshuly, for maintaining high combat readiness of troops and success in service.
Recall that the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that after the tragedy on the Caspian Sea, senior and top-ranking officials of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan were detained on suspicion of criminal offenses related to negligent attitude to service and violation of navigation rules, which led to grave consequences.
Among those detained are the Chief of Staff — First Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan, two commanders of military units, as well as commanders of a marine company and a boat. However, their names were not disclosed at the time.
All five have been recognized as suspects and placed in the temporary detention facility of the Aktau police department.
It is possible that more people will be detained in the case.
