By order of the akim of the East Kazakhstan region, Darkhan Sapanov has been appointed as the first deputy head of the region, reports infohub.kz.
According to the official website of the department, Darkhan Sapanov was born on January 2, 1985, in the village of Akzhar in the Tarbagatai district of the East Kazakhstan region.
He earned higher education degrees from several institutions. In 2007, he graduated from the Serikbayev East Kazakhstan State Technical University with a degree in industrial thermal power engineering, qualifying as an engineer. In 2009, he completed his studies at the Amanzholov East Kazakhstan State University in management. In 2022, he graduated from the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration under the Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) program.
He began his career in 2007. Over the years, he worked as a chief specialist at the Inspection Department of the State Architectural and Construction Control of the East Kazakhstan region, as an engineer at the Department for Work with the Population of Astanaenergosbyt LLP, and as an expert at the Department for Development of Electric Power and Coal Industry of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan.
From 2009 to 2020, he held various positions in the Office of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan, including chief expert, chief consultant, head of sector, chief inspector, and deputy head of the Industrial and Innovative Development Department. From 2020 to 2023, he served as a state inspector in the Administration of the President of Kazakhstan.
Since February 2023, he held the position of deputy akim of the East Kazakhstan region. For his contributions to the civil service, Darkhan Sapanov was awarded the state medal "Yeren enbegi ushin" in 2018.
"The appointment of Darkhan Sapanov as the first deputy akim of the region is another step in his professional career related to public administration, industrial development, and the implementation of socio-economic policy," the akimat noted.
Recall that the post of first deputy akim of the East Kazakhstan region was previously held by Zhaksylyk Omar. In April of this year, he was sentenced to 6 years in prison for fraud and bribery. He filed an appeal, but the verdict was upheld. Following this, the head of the region, Nurymbet Saktaaganov, submitted his resignation in accordance with the established procedure. After reviewing the case and considering his non-involvement, the resignation request was denied.
