Kazakh footballer Dastan Satpayev has become the star of a viral video by a renowned cartoonist after scoring his first goal for Chelsea. The clip has already amassed over 6.5 million views, according to infohub.kz.
The video was created by Iranian cartoonist Hamid Sahari, who specializes in football-themed content. He has 7.7 million followers on his page.
Earlier, he released a clip featuring Chelsea players and head coach Xabi Alonso. In the storyline, many players are injured, leaving the club in a difficult situation. However, the coach unveils a 'secret weapon' — Dastan Satpayev.
At the end of the video, the Kazakhstani poses against the backdrop of the Kazakh flag. "Xabi Alonso and Chelsea surprised everyone by presenting a 17-year-old forward from Kazakhstan," reads the video's description. It has already been viewed more than 6.5 million times.
On July 28, Chelsea beat Australian club Western Sydney Wanderers in a friendly match. The game was held at Accor Stadium in Sydney and ended 6-4.
Satpayev started for the London side. In the 7th minute, he opened the scoring with his debut goal for Chelsea. The 17-year-old forward spent 63 minutes on the pitch.
He was substituted along with other starting players when the regulars came on. After the match, Alonso praised the Kazakh for his debut goal, and the official English Premier League account dedicated a separate post to Satpayev.
