Dastan Satpayev, forward for Kazakhstan's national team and English club Burnley, will be out for several weeks due to an injury, reports infohub.kz.
On September 2, the 18-year-old footballer was substituted in the match against Middlesbrough (1:1) and left the field limping, holding his hamstring. He was not included in the squad for the last match against Bristol City (1:2). After the match, Burnley head coach Nikki Hayen provided details on Satpayev's condition.
"Unfortunately, he is out for several weeks. It's one of the signals. As I said, his pre-season was not full. We try to give players load and at the same time protect them. We need to find that right balance," Hayen said.
Thus, Satpayev is highly likely to miss the first four matches of Kazakhstan's national team in the Nations League, which will take place from September 26 to October 6. The final squad of the national team will be announced in a few days.
The forward moved to London's Chelsea in the summer, where he underwent pre-season training. He then joined Burnley on a season-long loan.
