A deadly crash involving a Kia Sorento and a DAF truck in the Kostanay region left two people dead at the scene and one hospitalized, reports infohub.kz.
Police have launched a pre-trial investigation into the accident on the Kostanay–Karabutak highway near the village of Tobyl in the Beimbet Mailin district. Preliminary findings indicate that the Kia driver lost control, veered into oncoming traffic, and collided with the DAF truck. The driver and one passenger of the car died at the scene; another passenger was hospitalized.
Investigators are conducting necessary procedures to determine the circumstances and causes of the crash. A procedural decision will be made following the investigation.
The Kostanay Regional Police Department urges drivers to strictly follow traffic rules, choose a safe speed based on road and weather conditions, maintain distance, and avoid crossing into oncoming traffic.
