In Almaty, authorities are investigating the death of a worker at the construction site of the Kokjiek City residential complex. The tragedy occurred on the evening of August 16, when the safety belt of 42-year-old Bakytzhan Nakypbekov gave way, reports the website infohub.kz.

According to police, the man fell from the third floor into a basement area. The injuries he sustained were incompatible with life, and he died in the hospital. The deceased is survived by his wife and five minor children.

The police department of the Zhetysu district confirmed the initiation of a pre-trial investigation. Official representative of the Almaty Police Department, Saltanat Azirbek, stated: "On August 16, the Zhetysu District Police Department opened a criminal case under Article 272 of the Criminal Code. All procedural actions required by the Criminal Procedure Code are currently being carried out. Those responsible will be identified and their actions will be given a legal assessment."

It is worth noting that this is not the first death of workers at construction sites in Kazakhstan. Last year, several similar incidents occurred in the country, which raised public concern and led to increased oversight of safety compliance at construction sites.
