On October 4, Kazakhstan's Armed Forces celebrate Rocket Forces and Artillery Day. These units are part of the Ground Forces and are responsible for destroying enemy firepower, equipment, and personnel, as well as demolishing defensive structures and providing fire support to units, reports infohub.kz.
Modern artillery today uses more than just weapons. Reconnaissance unmanned aerial vehicles are employed to detect targets and transmit data, while automated control systems reduce the time between receiving information and executing a fire mission.
Shooting accuracy is affected by the coordinates of firing positions and targets, meteorological conditions, and ballistic parameters. This requires a complex of topographic-geodetic, meteorological, and ballistic support.
Artillery officers in Kazakhstan are trained at the Military Institute of the Ground Forces, which graduates up to 60 specialists annually. Officers of the operational-tactical level are trained at the National Defense University.
The military-trained reserve is formed, in particular, from graduates of the military departments of Karaganda Technical University and Satbayev University. Sergeants are trained at a military college, while junior specialists for artillery and mortar crews are trained at the Ground Forces training center.
The Ministry of Defense also noted the contributions to the development of the Rocket Forces and Artillery of Generals Luta Alchekenov, Askar Zholamanov, Ruslan Shpekbayev, and a number of officers, including Mikhail Shleiko, Dauren Yeskhozhin, Nikolai Misyura, Viktor Kashoid, Alexander Teplyakov, Anvar Uzbekov, and Giniyatkali Shalabayev.
Earlier, Kursiv wrote about what is known about Kuanyshbek Ushtayev, who headed the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
