Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen has asked Kazakhstan to use its diplomatic ties with Moscow to help secure a ceasefire in Ukraine. He made the remarks to journalists after meeting with Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tileuberdi, according to infohub.kz.

"I asked Kazakhstan to use its diplomatic connections with Moscow to reach agreements on a ceasefire in Ukraine and achieve peace," TASS quoted Rasmussen as saying.

Kazakhstan's Foreign Ministry also provided details of the meeting between Mukhtar Tileuberdi and Lars Løkke Rasmussen. According to the ministry, the Danish minister confirmed Denmark's interest in further expanding cooperation with Kazakhstan and noted Central Asia's growing importance on his country's foreign policy and economic agenda.

The visiting official also commented on the appointment of Lars Tuesen as Denmark's ambassador to Kazakhstan and special representative of the Danish Foreign Ministry for Central Asia.
