Pet owners in Kazakhstan can now obtain a digital passport for their pets through the eGov Mobile app. The document becomes available after registering the animal in the Unified Database for Pet Registration TABAN, reports the website infohub.kz.
The eGov Mobile app now allows users to open a digital pet passport in just a few seconds and present it when needed, according to the Electronic Government for Citizens eGov.kz. "In eGov Mobile, you can open a digital pet passport in a few seconds and present it when necessary," the statement reads.
The digital passport contains essential information about the pet: individual number, name, breed, color, date of birth, sex, distinctive marks, registration and actual residence address, as well as owner details. Additionally, the document displays information about microchipping, sterilization, and vaccination with dates and statuses.
To have the document appear in the app, the animal must be registered in the TABAN database. "After that, the digital document will automatically be displayed in eGov Mobile. All data is loaded from the Unified Database for Pet Registration TABAN," noted eGov.kz.
To view the passport, users need to log in to the eGov Mobile app, open the "Digital Documents" section, go to the "Other Documents" category, and select "Pet Passport." If the document is not displayed, click the "Update Documents" button.
eGov.kz explained that the digital passport can be useful when visiting a veterinary clinic, arranging travel, participating in exhibitions, or in case of pet loss. The service also helps keep track of pets and increase owner responsibility.
According to the TABAN website, as of August 5, 2026, 397,642 pets have received digital passports. Among them are 290,868 dogs and 106,760 cats. The database also includes four ferrets, five rabbits, and one each of a decorative rat, turtle, capybara, hamster, and miniature pig.
