Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Oljas Bektenov visited the Ministry of Transport's situation center, where he reviewed the implementation of the head of state's instructions, as reported by infohub.kz.
Currently, the ministry is actively introducing innovative digital solutions in the automotive, railway, and aviation sectors. Platforms such as e-Joldar, Smart Cargo, Q-Gate, QazETA, Echelon Alpha, and others have been created.
"President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has outlined the priority of further building a state of digital services. Digitalization and artificial intelligence must bring tangible benefits to citizens, businesses, and the state. The government's task is to accelerate the implementation of useful AI solutions in all sectors of the economy. I instruct to fully implement the projects presented today on technological transformation of the transport industry across the country as soon as possible," stated Prime Minister Oljas Bektenov.
The Kazakh Road Research Institute (KazdorNII) is also actively involved in the digitalization of the industry. During the meeting, the institute presented an innovative mobile laboratory. The project to launch mobile complexes was implemented last year and is unique for the country.
"To survey the road network, the institute uses 3 specialized mobile road laboratories that allow collecting and analyzing digital data on the condition of highways directly during movement. The laboratories are equipped with video cameras, measuring sensors, GPS/GLONASS systems, an automated road surface defect detection system, and onboard computing complexes. During the survey, the condition of the road surface, signs and markings, barriers and shoulders, geometric parameters of the road, and other factors affecting traffic safety are recorded," said Kenzhebek Azatbekov, Vice President of JSC "KazdorNII".
Already today, the institute offers domestic regions a high-quality digital audit of the road surface. Work to identify potentially dangerous sections and determine priority measures is being carried out in West Kazakhstan, Mangystau regions, and in the city of Almaty. After the audit, specialists formulate well-founded proposals, which allows moving from point-by-point defect elimination to systematic modernization of the road network.
KazdorNII also pays attention to road safety audits. Institute staff have undergone training in the Czech Republic and apply the acquired skills in Kazakhstan. Vice Minister of Transport Damir Kozhakhmetov noted the important role of the institute in achieving global goals.
"KazdorNII is our scientific base where all laboratory research is conducted. The institute is responsible for new technologies in road surfaces - as you know, the use of concrete and polymer concrete surfaces is now envisaged. All relevant laboratory research is carried out by KazdorNII. And this contribution is invaluable, because without science, further development is impossible," emphasized the Deputy Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
