To mark the launch of the route, Kazakhstani citizens are offered a discount of 15,000 tenge on tickets from Almaty to Hong Kong and beyond on the route network. The promotion runs until September 30, 2026, and applies to flights from January to September 2027.
Direct air service between Almaty and Hong Kong has been discussed for years. As early as 2025, Kazakhstan was in talks with Hong Kong airlines about launching passenger flights.
Previously, Air Astana operated the Almaty-Hong Kong route since 2012, but the service was suspended after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Earlier, a new foreign carrier from Armenia, FlyOne Armenia, entered the Kazakh aviation market.
