Disney has announced a partnership with TikTok that will allow video creators to legally use content from the Marvel and Star Wars franchises for their clips, reports infohub.kz.
The Walt Disney Company and the social network TikTok have signed a broad agreement on shared content use. Under the partnership, US-based bloggers will get official access to a library of materials from hundreds of films and series, including projects from the Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and FX franchises.
User-generated short videos will be featured not only on TikTok but also on Disney's streaming service Disney+, in a dedicated vertical video section called Verts. Through the Disney Creator Ambassador Program, top creators will get access to exclusive events and promotional opportunities. According to internal TikTok data, users post millions of movie and TV-related posts daily, and nearly half of viewers discover new shows through the social network.
The deal comes as Disney released its third-quarter financial report. Operating profit for the company's streaming division rose to $712 million, doubling year-over-year.
