Russian boxer Dmitry Bivol has announced that he underwent surgery on his elbow. The athlete shared a photo from the hospital, reports infohub.kz.
In his Instagram profile, Bivol posted a photo from the clinic. It shows him surrounded by doctors, with his arm bandaged after the operation.
“The planned elbow surgery is behind me. Everything went well. Thank you all for your support, messages, and kind words,” Bivol captioned the photo.
According to RIA Sport, Eddie Hearn, head of Matchroom Boxing, recently stated that Bivol intends to vacate the mandatory defense of his WBO title. The organization had previously sanctioned a fight for the light heavyweight belt against mandatory challenger Callum Smith.
