Dodo Pizza has officially confirmed a cyberattack on its IT infrastructure that may have allowed intruders to access the personal data of some customers. The company announced this on its Telegram channel, according to infohub.kz.

The company said: "Friends, yesterday and today there was a cyberattack on our IT system. Our information security team is doing everything to ensure this never happens again. For now, we want to be transparent about what data of some of our customers may have been exposed: names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, dates of birth, and order contents."

Dodo Pizza claims that customer payment data is not stored in the attacked system, so it did not fall into the hands of hackers. "We do not store payment data – it is safe," the company said.

Roskomnadzor has been notified of the incident. According to Dodo Pizza, the intruders' access to the system has been blocked, and an internal investigation is ongoing. One protective measure for customers was a forced logout from their accounts.

The hacker group DATASUCKERS claims to have stolen between 2 and 3 terabytes of information on approximately 68 million Dodo Pizza customers, including data and order histories of users from various countries. There is no independent confirmation of these figures yet, and the company itself has not disclosed the exact number of affected individuals.

Dodo Pizza did not specify whether user data from Kazakhstan was affected. However, the hackers claim they obtained information about customers from all countries where the chain operates.

The Blue Screen service recommends that Kazakh users of Dodo Pizza be extra vigilant about calls, emails, and messages that appear to come from the company. "Do not click on suspicious links, do not share SMS codes or bank card details, and it is best to change your account password, especially if the same one is used on other services," experts advise.

Even without payment data, information such as name, phone number, email, address, and past orders can be used for convincing phishing, the service notes.

The international Dodo.Brands network has more than 1,300 pizzerias and coffee shops in 26 countries, including Kazakhstan and Russia.
