Work continues in the Almaty Region to rescue animals from the Dog House "Tvardovsky Dom" shelter following the death of its founder, Vladimir Teplyakov. About 90 dogs remaining in the Zhambyl District have been provided with food, and volunteers, animal rights activists and local executive bodies have joined efforts to place them, reports infohub.kz.

The animals are gradually being transported to other shelters and private homes, while temporary or permanent placement is being sought for those remaining. The akimat said representatives of local executive bodies, volunteers and well-known animal rights activist Ramzan Batsalov, head of the "DOS" shelter, have joined the effort. Transport was provided to move the animals and necessary equipment. Together with representatives of local executive bodies and volunteers, he is helping coordinate the placement work.

"About 90 dogs remaining at the Dog House 'Tvardovsky Dom' shelter in the Zhambyl District have been provided with food. Work is now under way to place them in other shelters and private homes," the statement said. Residents willing to take in the dogs are being urged to come forward and help the animals find a new home.

The animal rights activist also asked people not to spread unverified information or pit volunteers, shelters and government agencies against one another. All sides are interacting and jointly resolving issues of providing assistance to the animals.

"And I want to explain one thing right away. The akimat is not kicking us out. The landowners are not kicking us out. The reason is completely different. Investigative actions are continuing on the shelter's territory. A person was murdered there, and the police must be able to do their work calmly. Besides, there is now practically no one there to care for the animals. Volodya's family is forced to constantly deal with matters related to the investigation and physically cannot also cope with such a large number of dogs," he said.

Batsalov stressed that helping the dogs has become a shared task for everyone who knew the late Vladimir Teplyakov.

"Volodya Teplyakov is our friend and a common comrade. In this difficult time, we are acting together to take care of the animals. This is our shared grief," the animal rights activist noted.

According to animal rights activists, representatives of shelters and government agencies are interacting to organize assistance for the animals.

"Do you know who fed and watered all 90 dogs? Police officers. The very police officers who are now working at the crime scene. So please, there is no need to scold them or accuse them of allegedly driving the dogs out. They are doing their job, and we must do ours," the animal rights activist added.

It was reported earlier that 90 dogs were left in the steppe near Almaty after the death of their owner, Vladimir Teplyakov, founder of the animal rescue shelter Dog House "Tvardovsky Dom." The Almaty Region Police Department disclosed some details of the shelter founder's death.
