On Tuesday, the exchange rate was 471.98 tenge per dollar, and yesterday it was 469.85 tenge. Today, the decline continued: following trading in foreign currencies on KASE, the weighted average dollar rate was 467.48 tenge, down by 2 tenge over the day.
As of 3:30 PM, exchange offices in the country's major cities set the following rates for buying and selling cash dollars: in Astana, buying from 465 to 466 tenge, selling from 472 to 473 tenge; in Almaty, buying from 463.1 to 469 tenge, selling from 469.3 to 472 tenge; in Shymkent, buying from 468 to 468.5 tenge, selling from 470 to 470.1 tenge.
The euro exchange rate also declined slightly, by 1 tenge over the day. Its weighted average value as of 3:30 PM today is 540.64 tenge. Exchange offices across the country set the following rates for buying and selling cash euros: in Astana, buying from 534 to 535 tenge, selling from 544 to 545 tenge; in Almaty, buying from 535 to 541 tenge, selling from 542 to 548 tenge; in Shymkent, buying from 536 to 540 tenge, selling from 542 to 546 tenge.
