After a brief rise, the dollar exchange rate on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) has again declined, losing more than 3 tenge in a day. The European currency also fell by more than 4 tenge. Current exchange rates at exchange offices across the country are provided by the portal Kurs.kz, reports infohub.kz.
By the end of last week, the exchange rate of the dollar on the stock exchange had dropped to 474.63 tenge, but after the weekend it rose slightly to 475.38 tenge. On Tuesday, this trend did not continue: following trading, the weighted average dollar rate stood at 471.98 tenge, which is 3.4 tenge lower than the previous value.
At exchange offices in Kazakhstan's major cities, as of 15:30, the following buying and selling rates for cash dollars were set: in Astana — 468 and 475 tenge, respectively; in Almaty — from 467 to 472 tenge for buying and from 472.3 to 475 tenge for selling; in Shymkent — from 471.5 to 472.5 tenge and from 473.5 to 474.5 tenge, respectively.
The euro exchange rate also fell by more than 4 tenge in a day, reaching a weighted average of 543.12 tenge. In exchange offices in Astana, the euro is bought for 537 tenge and sold for 547 tenge; in Almaty — from 536 to 543 tenge for buying and from 543 to 549 tenge for selling; in Shymkent — from 538 to 542 tenge and from 544.5 to 548 tenge, respectively.
