The trading day on August 20 proved unfavorable for the American currency: the dollar exchange rate fell by 3.82 tenge, reports infohub.kz.

On the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) on August 20, the trend of tenge strengthening continued. The weighted average dollar rate dropped by 3.82 tenge during the day, reaching 458.23 tenge. Thus, the national currency of Kazakhstan continues to rise. Earlier, experts called the tenge one of the strongest currencies in Europe and the US.

At the same time, the euro exchange rate remained virtually unchanged.

Exchange offices in major cities of the country as of 15:30, according to the Kurs.kz portal, set the following buying and selling rates for cash dollars:

In Astana: buying – 457 tenge, selling – 464 tenge. In Almaty: buying – from 452.3 to 458 tenge, selling – from 458 to 461 tenge. In Shymkent: buying – from 457 to 458 tenge, selling – from 459 to 460 tenge.
