The weighted average exchange rate of the US dollar on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE) has dropped below the psychological mark of 450 tenge, and following the exchange quotations, the selling rate of the dollar has decreased in exchange offices across the country, reports infohub.kz.

Last week, the dollar rate fluctuated significantly but by the end of the week approached 450 tenge. Today, the American currency is already trading below this level.

According to the results of today's foreign currency trading on the Kazakhstan Stock Exchange (KASE), the weighted average dollar rate was 447.8 tenge. This is a decrease of 3 tenge compared to Friday.

Exchange offices in major cities at 15:30 today, according to data from the portal Kurs.kz, set the following buying and selling rates for cash dollars:

Astana: buying — 446 tenge, selling — 453 tenge;

Almaty: buying — from 445 to 447.7 tenge, selling — from 448 to 450.2 tenge;

Shymkent: buying — from 448 to 447 tenge, selling — from 449 to 450 tenge.

The euro rate also decreased by almost 5 tenge. Its weighted average value today at 15:30 is 518.34 tenge.

Meanwhile, exchange offices in the country have set the following buying and selling rates for cash euros:

Astana: buying — 516 tenge, selling — 526 tenge;

Almaty: buying — from 511 to 522 tenge, selling — from 520 to 530 tenge;

Shymkent: buying — from 515 to 521 tenge, selling — from 519 to 527 tenge.

Recall that at the end of last week, the price of Brent crude oil rose above $100 per barrel. This could have influenced the strengthening of the tenge.
