Famous singer and actress Dolly Parton's estate has announced a two-day festival, 'Dollyfest', in her honor. The event is planned to take place in Nashville and London in 2027. Initially, the festival was scheduled for January 2026, around the singer's 80th birthday, but was postponed due to her health. Now, the event will celebrate Parton's creative legacy, as reported by infohub.kz.
According to organizer Danny Nozell, founder and CEO of CTK Enterprises, they had the venue booked and were ready to announce, but in August 2025, Parton had to step back due to health challenges. Nozell stated: "A lot of people always say, WWDD (What Would Dolly Do?), and, well, at this moment, Dollyfest is WDWD (What Dolly Would Do!)."
Nozell also conveyed that they are not discouraging people from celebrating Dolly in their own ways, but a traditional memorial is not something Dolly wanted. Instead, they feel it's appropriate to let natural tributes occur and then see through this festival-style concept that was truly dreamed up by Dolly.
It is worth noting that a private service for Parton was held on Friday, attended only by immediate family. Per her wishes, there will be no public ceremony. Parton's great-niece, Lainey Parton, posted a heartfelt tribute on social media, saying that her granny always made her feel like she was enough, never made her dreams feel too big, and helped her believe in herself.
