The clash between the elected officials occurred in Armenia's parliament after a speech by Edgar Kazaryan, a member of the opposition Strong Armenia faction.
From the podium, Edgar Kazaryan called on representatives of the ruling Civil Contract party not to spend their bonuses, stating that the funds must be returned to the state budget.
"Rubinyan allowed the embezzlement of state funds. I urge you not to spend these 250 thousand, not to spend the bonuses. We will recover this money from you down to the last penny, we will not allow those who brought misfortune to this country and people..." the opposition deputy declared.
Ruben Rubinyan called on the opposition deputy to stick to the session's agenda, after which he turned off his microphone.
After Kazaryan returned to his seat, a verbal altercation broke out between pro-government and opposition deputies, which escalated into a fight.
It is noted that Civil Contract deputy Hayk Galumyan, and then other colleagues, attacked deputies of the Strong Armenia faction.
Rubinyan urged everyone to return to their seats, but after the brawl began, he announced a recess and called security officers. They escorted the deputies out of the hall, after which the conflict continued in the parliament's corridors.
