Police in Almaty are investigating a criminal case following a conflict between two drivers on Seifullin Avenue. A video of the incident circulated on social media the day before, reports infohub.kz.
The incident occurred near the Forum shopping mall. According to dashcam footage, a black ROX 01 wanted to make a U-turn and merge into traffic, but another driver on the main road did not yield.
After that, the SUV driver forced the video's author to stop. When the man got out of his car, the ROX driver punched him in the face, causing him to fall to the asphalt and convulse. Social media claims the victim required ambulance assistance after the incident.
Police have already identified the participants. As Kursiv Avto learned, the Bostandyk district police department is investigating a criminal case on charges of causing bodily harm. The Almaty police department clarified that the incident occurred several weeks ago. The participants have been identified, and necessary procedural actions are being taken. After the investigation, their actions will be given a legal assessment.
Police also urged the public not to jump to conclusions based on the circulating video until the investigation is complete.
