Since the start of 2026, more than five thousand drivers in the Pavlodar region have been brought to administrative responsibility for violating rules on transporting minors, reports the website infohub.kz.
A significant portion of these offenses is automatically recorded by road cameras that detect unrestrained children and the absence of child restraint systems. The system identifies violations on its own and sends a fine notice to the vehicle owner.
Law enforcement officials emphasize that safety requirements apply regardless of trip duration—whether it's a short route to kindergarten or school, or a long trip out of town. Police also urge parents to check for the availability of a child seat when ordering a taxi. Carrying a child in your arms is strictly prohibited, as an adult cannot hold onto them during sudden braking or a collision.
Since the beginning of the year, the region has recorded 59 road accidents involving minor passengers. In this regard, police remind that using child restraint systems significantly reduces the risk of severe injuries in accidents.
According to Kazakhstan's traffic rules, children under 12 years old must be transported using special restraint systems that match their height and weight. The fine for violation is 21,625 tenge (5 MCI). For a repeated violation within a year, the amount increases to 43,250 tenge (10 MCI).
