In Ust-Kamenogorsk, police detained two young men and seized 91 packets containing narcotic substances. One suspect has been taken into custody, while the other is under house arrest, according to the website infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the East Kazakhstan Regional Police Department, during operational-search activities, officers from the anti-drug crime unit suppressed a case of illegal drug trafficking. Two city residents, aged 18 and 19, were detained on suspicion of drug possession with intent to sell, committed by a group of individuals.
During a personal search, 91 packets with prohibited substances were found and seized. According to the forensic expert examination, the seized substances contained psychotropic substances: mephedrone weighing 25.29 grams, α-PVP weighing 27.21 grams, and cannabis resin weighing 6.24 grams. These amounts are classified as particularly large.
Currently, a pre-trial investigation is underway. One suspect has been placed under house arrest, while the other has been remanded to a temporary detention facility.
