Since the start of the operational and preventive campaign "Karasora-2026," 87 drug-related offenses have been registered and 346 kilograms of narcotic substances have been seized in the Aktobe region, reports infohub.kz.
The campaign, which will run until October 31, is being conducted across Kazakhstan to identify illicit drug trafficking, destroy narcotic plants, and eliminate drug laboratories.
In the region, police are checking areas where narcotic plants may grow or be illegally cultivated, and are identifying individuals involved in their cultivation. Special attention is paid to hard-to-reach areas, which are inspected using a helicopter. Aerial monitoring is carried out in areas where ground checks are difficult.
On republican highways, checkpoints and mobile groups are operating. With the help of service dogs, police are checking vehicles for illegal drug transportation.
Since the start of the operation, 5,855 wild hemp bushes have been destroyed in the region.
Special attention is paid to internet resources related to drug trafficking. Across Kazakhstan, 923 websites in the domain zone have been identified, and information about them has been entered into the Cyber Surveillance system for further action.
Additionally, since the beginning of the year, 650 bank cards that could have been used in illegal activities have been identified through the Anti-Fraud system. The information has been sent for blocking, and the total amount of blocked funds amounted to 5 million 598.3 thousand tenge.
The police urge citizens to report facts of illegal storage, production, transportation, and distribution of drugs.
Earlier it was reported that a 38-year-old man suspected of organizing an online drug store was detained in Aktobe. During the special operation, weapons, ammunition, and an F-1 grenade were seized from him. Later, police detained a suspected drug courier, who had 70 vials of WAX hashish oil and money presumably obtained from illegal activities in a rented apartment. A pre-trial investigation is being conducted into the facts of illegal storage of drugs in especially large amounts, as well as weapons and ammunition.
