A 43-year-old resident of the Ereymentau district, while intoxicated, caused a traffic accident and threatened another driver with a screwdriver in the Akmola region, reports infohub.kz.
According to the press service of the Akmola Regional Police Department, the incident occurred in the city of Ereymentau on Abylai Khan Street. A minor collision took place between a VAZ-2107 and a Toyota Camry. However, the driver of the domestic car, instead of resolving the situation in the prescribed manner, got out of his vehicle, picked up a screwdriver, and began threatening the other driver with physical harm. The victim immediately contacted the police.
Upon arriving at the scene, officers determined that the culprit was intoxicated. Moreover, he had previously been deprived of his driver's license for driving under the influence.
Police have launched two pre-trial investigations: one for the threat, and another for driving a vehicle by a person previously deprived of the right to drive and again getting behind the wheel while intoxicated.
