A resident of the Burabay district, while intoxicated, got behind the wheel with three children and headed to relatives of his deceased wife, but on the way lost control and crashed into a private house, reports infohub.kz.
According to police, the incident occurred in the village of Vishnevoe. The man was driving a Lada Largus along Zhagaly Street when he hit a fence, then crashed into the wall of a residential building. As a result of the accident, the car knocked down the fence, damaged the garden, and came to rest against the stairs at the entrance.
The homeowner said that his family was having dinner at the time of the incident. Suddenly, the walls shook and plaster fell from the ceiling.
As a result of the crash, the driver's children were injured - they were taken to a medical facility with bruises for examination and later released. They were then sent to their grandmother.
The drunk driver was detained and taken to the police. An administrative protocol was drawn up against him under Part 3 of Article 608 of the Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Administrative Offenses. He faces license suspension and administrative arrest.
The wife's relatives intend to take the grandchildren into their care.
