A resident of Kozy Korpush Street in the town of Kosshy endured a night of sheer terror. Late in the evening, an unknown man began persistently breaking down the door of her home, infohub.kz reports. At that moment, only a woman and her school-age children were inside. The belligerent stranger forcefully rattled the handle and demanded to be let in, ignoring the screams of the frightened residents.

The situation was made worse by the fact that help could not be summoned promptly — according to the victim, the emergency line "102" simply did not answer. In a panic, the woman had to write to a local community chat, and only after some time was she able to reach the local police officer directly.

The Police Department of Akmola Region commented on the nighttime incident, confirming the detention of the offender. He turned out to be a 46-year-old man.

"In connection with this incident, police officers identified a man born in 1978. Following a check, the offender was brought to administrative responsibility for disturbing the peace and being in a public place while intoxicated. According to preliminary data, the man mistook the house," the department said.

Although for the police the case ended with a report for drunkenness and noise, outraged residents of Kosshy intend to demand that the local akimat urgently install lighting before another drunk "mix-up" leads to a more serious crime.
