Two people were killed in a crash late last night in Almaty's Alatau District, according to infohub.kz.
The traffic accident occurred on July 27 at 3:10 a.m. in the Alatau District of the southern capital. According to preliminary information, the driver of a Suzuki, traveling west on Ryskulov Avenue, attempted a U-turn at the intersection with Sharipov Street and collided with a Mercedes Geländewagen that was traveling east on Ryskulov Avenue.
As a result of the crash, the driver of the Suzuki and one of her female passengers died from their injuries at the scene. Another female passenger in the Suzuki and the driver of the Mercedes were taken to a medical facility with various injuries.
“A criminal case has been opened by the Investigation Department of the Almaty Police Department regarding the traffic accident that resulted in two deaths. The circumstances of the crash are being established,” the press service of the Almaty Police Department reported.
