After reports emerged of a possible shooting at the home of Russian rapper Dzhigan, not only police but also Russia's National Guard (Rosgvardiya) launched an investigation, infohub.kz reports.
According to the SHOT Telegram channel, National Guard officers are calling all shooting clubs in the Moscow region that the rapper has visited. They are requesting internal records on him: times of attendance, information about weapons and the certificates he provided. In addition, they are checking how lucid Dzhigan was — how he behaved and whether he followed established rules.
Following the alleged shooting at the home, authorities are also looking into how Denis Ustimenko-Vainshtein obtained medical certificates for firearm storage and where he underwent the weapons medical commission.
It is noted that under current Russian law, lawful firearm storage requires a permit from the National Guard issued at the place of residence. Weapons must be kept in a locked safe, and only the owner may hold the key.
Earlier, media reports claimed that rapper Dzhigan had taken hostages and opened fire in his own home. However, his lawyer, Sergei Zhorin, said the accusations are false.
Nevertheless, Russian police did launch an investigation following the reports of the shooting.
It also emerged that Oksana Samoilova has filed a lawsuit seeking to restrict her ex-husband Dzhigan's parental rights.
