Russian rapper Denis Ustimenko-Vainshtein, known by his stage name Dzhigan, allegedly took hostages and opened fire in his own home, according to sources cited by infohub.kz.
According to the Telegram channel Mash, on the night of July 3-4, the performer summoned the staff of his house and confronted them with a weapon in hand. He accused the employees of crimes and offered them a chance to confess in order to save their lives.
According to the outlet, Dzhigan forced one of the workers to confess to child abuse, then shot the man, hitting him in the arm and leg. He accused the remaining staff of betrayal, leaking information, and nationalism. He gave them a chance to run and opened fire. The incident lasted 10 hours.
Throughout this time, the children of Dzhigan and Oksana Samoilova were in the house, hiding in a closet and in contact with their mother, who was abroad at the time. It is reported that neighbors tried to call the police, the village security, and the rapper's friends. The performer resisted and beat anyone who tried to detain him. After that, the artist was stopped. He was sent for compulsory treatment to a rehabilitation clinic in Israel.
Mash claims that Dzhigan's ex-wife, Oksana Samoilova, confirmed in a conversation with the outlet that the incident did indeed occur.
The Telegram channel SHOT published additional footage showing bullets in the wall and an injury apparently sustained by one of those involved in the incident.
Currently, Dzhigan is actively sharing events from his life on Instagram. Judging by his posts, the rapper is studying Judaism. "We do not impose our faith! Judaism is not a religion, it is a path, a way of life, an inner connection with the creator and with the people," he wrote.
