Since July 22, 2026, the Interim Trade Agreement between the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and Mongolia has come into force, introducing new customs codes to simplify declaration and the application of benefits for foreign trade participants, reports infohub.kz.
The Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) announced that a new code "ME" is now required when declaring goods originating from Mongolia or EAEU member states and imported into the Union's customs territory under the agreement.
"Additionally, a special code '06022' has been introduced for providing information on the certificate of origin form EAM," the EEC said.
The EEC Board adopted the corresponding decision on July 21, 2026, and it will take effect 30 calendar days after its official publication.
"Until the decision enters into force, foreign trade participants must continue using the existing codes," the EEC warned.
According to the EEC, for indicating exemptions from customs duties, the code "TI" applies for other preferences not listed in subsection 1.1. As a temporary measure, the code "06999" should be used for documents confirming the origin of goods.
The EEC noted that the new codes will simplify the accounting of foreign trade operations, make goods clearance more transparent, and reduce financial and administrative costs for foreign trade participants.
Recall that the Interim Trade Agreement between the EAEU, its member states, and Mongolia was signed on June 27, 2025, in Minsk. The document provides for mutual reduction or elimination of customs duties on a wide range of goods and aims to further develop trade and economic cooperation between the parties.
