A new earthquake was recorded in the Almaty Region on September 28. The seismic event occurred at 13:53 Astana time, according to the Kazakhstan National Data Center, as reported by infohub.kz.
The epicenter was located 25 km northwest of Narynkol village in the Raiymbek District. The estimated intensity in Narynkol was 2-3 points, and in Kegen village — 2 points.
According to seismologists, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.2, an energy class of 9.4, and a focal depth of 7 km. The epicenter coordinates are 42.81 degrees north latitude and 79.89 degrees east longitude.
Specialists from the State Institution "Kazselezashchita" of the Ministry of Emergency Situations monitored riverbeds, hydraulic structures, landslide-prone and mudflow-prone areas. A visual inspection of life-support facilities for possible damage was also conducted.
"According to the inspection results, no damage was found; currently, these facilities are operating normally," the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
Recall that morning alerts in Almaty were related to a magnitude 3.7 earthquake that occurred on September 28 at 09:38 Astana time directly within the city. The intensity of the tremors in the metropolis was 4 points, after which residents received an automatic emergency message urging them to stay in open areas.

Earlier, "Kursiv" reported that Ministry of Emergency Situations specialists checked hydraulic structures, riverbeds, and mudflow- and landslide-prone areas after the earthquake. No damage or destruction was found.
