An earthquake was registered in Kazakhstan on the evening of September 6. Residents of the East Kazakhstan region felt the tremors, reports infohub.kz.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the earthquake was recorded by the seismic station network of NNCSSN LLP at 23:08 Astana time.
The epicenter was located 875 kilometers northeast of Almaty, at coordinates 49.167 degrees north latitude and 84.417 degrees east longitude.
The estimated intensity of the tremors in the village of Ulken-Naryn, East Kazakhstan region, was two points. No casualties or damage have been reported.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminded citizens of the basic rules of behavior during an earthquake:
Stay calm and do not panic.
Do not use the elevator or stairs during tremors.
Move away from windows, chandeliers, and heavy furniture.
Find a safe shelter. On upper floors, it is recommended to take a position in a corner near load-bearing walls.
Leave the building after the tremors stop.
If possible, turn off water, gas, and electricity.
Take a pre-prepared emergency kit.
Outdoors, stay away from buildings, trees, and power lines.
Be prepared for aftershocks.
Help the elderly and people with disabilities.
