The foreign ministers of eight countries have jointly condemned statements by Israeli ministers regarding the forced displacement of the Palestinian population from the Gaza Strip, reports the website infohub.kz.
The foreign ministers of Turkey, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Pakistan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates issued a joint statement in response to remarks by Israel's National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir and Defense Minister Israel Katz.
The statement emphasizes that such provocative remarks and proposals clearly contradict the principles of international law, including international humanitarian law, and pose a direct threat to the legitimate and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people. The ministers expressed their firm rejection and condemnation of any initiatives or plans aimed at displacing Palestinians, whether within the occupied Palestinian territories or beyond, under any pretext or for any reason.
In their view, such actions are a direct challenge to international efforts to establish peace, including the plan for Gaza put forward by U.S. President Donald Trump, which firmly rejects forced displacement, and seriously undermine hopes for stability in the region. The ministers stressed that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territories and highlighted the need to preserve the integrity of Palestinian lands in Gaza and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
The statement asserts that the only path to achieving a just and lasting peace is the implementation of the two-state solution. The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with its capital in East Jerusalem, within the borders of June 4, 1967, in accordance with relevant international resolutions.
Earlier, according to the Times of Israel, Ben-Gvir presented a plan for "voluntary emigration," which he hopes to advance if the ruling coalition retains power in the upcoming elections on October 27. The plan calls for the relocation of 250,000 Gaza residents within the first year, 1.11 million within three years, and 1.86 million within seven years. It is noted that Gaza's population is currently estimated at about 2.3 million. Defense Minister Katz, as reported by RIA Novosti, said that Israel is ready to transport Palestinians out of Gaza if other countries are willing to accept them. According to him, 80 percent of the enclave's residents want to emigrate.
