In the West Kazakhstan Region, children from eight villages received new schools by the start of the 2026-2027 academic year. Seven small-scale educational institutions were built with the support of a subsoil user company, and one more was funded from the local budget, reports infohub.kz.
The opening ceremony of the new building of the Kensuat basic secondary school in the Akzhaik district was attended by the regional governor Nariman Turegaliev and the deputy general director of Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. Mukhtar Mankeev. The village of Kensuat has a population of about 400 people. The governor noted that following the instructions of the President of Kazakhstan, work on developing educational infrastructure will continue on a systematic basis.
"Thanks to the systematic work carried out, the issues of 14 emergency, 6 three-shift, and 12 adapted school buildings in the region have been fully resolved. May educated, qualified, and proactive citizens, ready to serve their country, emerge from the walls of this school into a great life! May the new facility become a center of knowledge and upbringing for the village, a striving for development and new achievements!" said the akim of the West Kazakhstan Region, Nariman Turegaliev.
The new school is designed for 60 places. All 10 classrooms are equipped with interactive panels. The building includes a workshop, library, canteen, assembly hall, and gymnasium.
In the city of Aksai, Burlin district, school No. 9 was built under the project "Keleshek mektepteri". In the new academic year, the facility welcomed 750 students. 34 classes were formed, and more than 35 teachers began work. In addition, the school is equipped with 44 classrooms, including robotics and STEM laboratories. There is also an assembly hall for 150 people and three gyms. "My profile is physics and mathematics and creative direction. I want to enroll in an engineering specialty. Since this school meets modern requirements, I hope that studying here, we will be able to gain good knowledge and become sought-after specialists in the future," says Bibinur Kylyshbek, a student of school No. 9.
A new school for 108 student places was opened in the village of Ozernoye, Bayterek district. It was built with funds from Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V. The old adapted building from 1961 had long ceased to meet the requirements of the time. In the new academic year, 81 schoolchildren will receive knowledge here. The educational institution in the village of Ainabulak, Taskala district, is designed for 60 places. Thus, the problem of the emergency building of the former school in the village has been resolved. Overall, since 2023, 38 new schools with a total capacity of about 12,000 student places have been built in the region. 90 percent of them are located in rural areas. In the new academic year, the number of schoolchildren in the region approached 128,000. More than 11,000 children crossed the school threshold for the first time.
